The design features canted, three-story glass curtainwalls that offer expansive views of downtown and nearby mountain ranges. Nodding to Sacramento’s nickname, “City of Trees,” natural light streams through a weave of structural beams, calling to mind the canopy effect common along Sacramento’s tree-lined streets. For a streamlined “curbside to airside” experience, an elevated automated people-mover connects the terminal to a 19-gate airside concourse.
Sustainable features include solar shading devices, low-E glass, water-efficient fixtures and use of recycled materials.
